Meditation Sessions
Meditation is the practice of calming the mind and finding one’s center. Studies have shown that some of the benefits of meditation include the ability to relax, reduce negative emotions, increase patience, and improve the quality of sleep. There are many ways to practice meditation. One can focus on their breath or use a mantra. A mantra is a sound, word, or phrase that is repeated to focus the mind. Meditations can be guided or done in silence. Additionally, meditation can be practiced while sitting, laying down and even while walking. I like to practice meditation first thing in the morning and right before bed. However, practicing at any time of the day that suits you provides the same benefits.
I have practiced meditation for over fifteen years for stress relief and contemplation. I have found that meditation helps me to focus, feel grounded, and see situations from a different perspective. From my relaxed state of mind, I can connect more fully to gratitude and a high vibration way of being in the world.
I enjoy guided meditation with visualizations for releasing unwanted thoughts and emotions. I find practicing guided meditation to be helpful for calming and centering my mind. From a focused perspective, I can ask for answers and work through problems without distraction. Mindfulness meditation is also beneficial as it allows me to concentrate on my feelings and senses in the present moment without judgement. Present moment awareness can keep anxiety or fear from entering our space. In this nonjudgmental state, I can flow into feelings of gratitude, acceptance, and appreciation.
I began my meditation training in 2010 while studying at Intuitive Way. A few years later, I joined Janet Myatt’s Ascension Meditation Group and studied with her for over seven years. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I began sharing Sunday morning meditations to offer extra support. In January 2024, I received a certificate as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher in Sean Fargo’s training program.
It brings me great joy to lead individuals and groups in the practice of mindfulness. My intent is to share peace between us. During these meditations, we are led on a journey of remembering that we each have all the love and strength we need within us.
